El conflicto armado de 1982 no surgió de la voluntad de los pueblos argentino ni británico. Surgió de la necesidad de dos gobiernos de desviar la atención de sus crisis internas. Los que pagaron el precio fueron los soldados jóvenes de ambos lados.
The 1982 armed conflict did not arise from the will of the Argentine or British people. It arose from the need of two governments to divert attention from their internal crises. Those who paid the price were the young soldiers on both sides.
Una herida que sigue abierta. Más veteranos argentinos murieron por suicidio después de la guerra que durante el conflicto mismo. En el Reino Unido, estudios del NHS registraron altas tasas de PTSD no tratado entre los combatientes de 1982. A wound that remains open. More Argentine veterans died by suicide after the war than during the conflict itself. In the UK, NHS studies recorded high rates of untreated PTSD among 1982 combatants.
